About

Starving artists starve because they don’t have time for a real job.

Can one be engaged full-time in the employment of simply existing–paying the bills, scooping the cat litter, spending countless hours on the treadmill– and still have the time/energy for creative and inventive thought? Is an empty belly (and bank account) necessary to germinate the seeds of inventiveness. Could a mostly-normal, middle class, suburban woman create anything worthwhile? In 2011, I created this blog as a response to these questions.

I’m not a professional writer or artist. All of the things produced for this blog are done in my free time (usually between the hours of 7 and 9 pm and on weekends–when not cleaning the house).

I hope you enjoy what you read and see here. I’m not challenging the boundaries of some transitory and electro-obsessive culture here, people. I’m just creating things are beautiful, occasionally terrifying, and hopefully good.

Use of Content: Please don’t use any of the content on this website without permission. I have so little brain power left at the end of the day that any little scrap I can create is very precious. If you’d like to publish any of my work, please email me and we may be able to work something out.

Contact me: I would certainly love to hear feedback from you (read: please don’t make me cry). Comment on any post or feel free to email me.
